From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality by the amazing hosts – three lovely ladies who have created a true haven for relaxation. The spacious, well-decorated home provided the perfect backdrop for a peaceful retreat.
Waking up to the gentle melodies of birdsong in the early morning and enjoying the serenity of the afternoons was truly rejuvenating. Plus, with the hosts being super attentive and accommodating, it felt like a home away from home!

My soft landing to Mexico, scale of 1 to 10, has been, I have to say a 12. It's been lovely. I have learned about myself, since I've made this journey, that I need to trust my inner knowing, that inner voice more, because she guides me to learn more about myself and evolve in ways that if I don't listen, that evolution, that growth won't happen. I'm very grateful to have taken this journey. This stay has been absolutely amazing. It's beautiful inside and out. The energy is amazing, the people, the hosts, the owners are amazing. I feel safe, I feel loved, I feel cared for.
What I've learned about Mexico that has been a surprise is the fact that it feels more familiar than I expected. Very peaceful, welcoming, refreshing. I would say that if you have a desire to visit Mexico, do it. The stay here at Casa Verde is an amazing space, and I look forward to my next visit.
Nothing can prepare you for what you see with your eyes. As we were driving down from the airport, the first thing that I saw was mountains upon mountains. Then, as you keep driving further, you find out that not only are there mountains, there is a lake, and the mountain is the backdrop of the lake. Just unbelievably beautiful.
Pulling up to this beautiful, beautiful location, and the grand stairway, that's the first thing that you see. Then you walk into an inviting home that was just so open and well-designed. The decor was amazing, then the marble floors—I observe everything—the light fixtures. There was a lot of time and energy put into each and every room, the balconies and having the water views. My stay has been one of the best that I can ever imagine, and I travel a lot. I might not travel out of the country, but I travel within the states a lot, and this has topped every one of them.
Sometimes you get a bad representation on television and things like that, so I didn't expect it to be so beautiful. I was expecting it to be just, you know, land, or whatever. I didn't know what to expect, to be honest. The people are so welcoming, inviting, and friendly. I speak a little bit of Spanish, I learned some in school, but we have figured it out and I didn't feel dumb or inconveniencing anyone. I felt like I was where I needed to be.
The other thing that surprised me a lot was the entrepreneurship. That actually impressed me and made me feel that there's no restrictions here. The reason I say that is because back in the States there's a lot of paperwork that hinders people from being able to do what they love to do. When I drove through the streets here I saw people with all kinds of food, cooking, all kinds of setups and dried meat, and it was so interesting to be able to see people doing what they want, however they want it, wherever they want it.
I would like to say that if the house was a shack—which it's not—the love, the embracing, the care of other people, the knowledge, that in itself was worth coming all the way to Mexico. If I didn't get anything but that, it would have been worth the trip, but I got way more than that. I would say that my soft landing on a scale of 1 to 10 is really off the scale. There's no way that I can measure it with a 10. Definitely at least 15 or 20. I think that it was made very easy by my hostesses to be able to come in, find my way, and know what I need to do, what the plan was. That gave me a lot of confidence and gave me a lot of assurance in a place that I had never been before. So I do believe that it was a great experience.
On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the absolute best, it was like a 20. Coming in from landing on the plane, just looking down out of the window—I was amazed there. The views are amazing. Amazing. I did not expect to see mountains like this. I've been on several cruises and I think this is more my favorite. You get to see everyone actually in their element and living life, from seeing the animals all around (the dogs are treated so well) to seeing the horses and the cows and, oh my gosh, the mountains. I can't speak enough about the mountains.
Everyone is so kind, even though we are considered tourists, I don't feel out of place. It's easy to embrace yourself and integrate into the culture. That was really a surprise because that’s not how it's depicted from where I come from. But, in just the short time that I've been here, the good way outweighs the bad any day, on any occasion.
Being back home and dealing with the hustle and bustle of life, you think that you're not stressed, but coming here and being in such a different environment, I have learned a lot about myself. I learned that I don't have to live the life that I'm living. I need to take more time and relax. By the end of the day, I felt like stress just melted from my face, my facial muscles, and things in general kind of started relaxing, and the smiles that I've had, I've laughed so hard, while I've been here.
Words cannot describe how exciting this is to be a part of history. I am so honored and privileged that I get to be a part of that. I'm so thankful for the ladies that have opened it. From the time you meet them, you can tell their energy, their heart. So kind. So welcoming. So, I'm excited to see what the future brings.
Listen, book now, book now! If anyone has ever thought about going somewhere else, coming to Mexico, I say do it. Please ignore all the information, and the hoopla, and craziness that we hear back home and come and see for yourself. Come here, we're waiting for you.
